What is police time and a third overtime?
Time and a third (×1.33) is the standard overtime rate paid to police officers in England and Wales when they work on their rest days. It means you earn your base hourly rate plus one third on top. For example, a Constable at PP7 earning £24.15/hr would receive £32.12/hr at time and a third. For bank holiday and certain other working, the rate may rise to double time (×2).

What NHS overtime rates apply under Agenda for Change?
Under NHS Agenda for Change, unsocial hours enhancements apply within your standard 37.5-hr week: Saturday and weekday nights attract +30% for bands 4–9 (higher for lower bands); Sundays and bank holidays attract +60% for bands 4–9 (up to +94% for band 1). Overtime beyond 37.5 hours per week is paid at time and a half (×1.5) for bands 1–7. These two systems do not combine — you receive whichever applies to those hours. Always verify with your payroll team.
